Description
The Dalmore 30 Year Old represents an exceptionally rare Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Dalmore Distillery in Alness, Scotland. This expression is part of an annual limited release that began in 2021, with recent releases producing fewer than 1,000 bottles globally.
The whisky is distilled using water sourced from the River Averon, which flows from Loch Morie. Following distillation, the spirit undergoes primary maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before receiving a finishing period in Colheita and Tawny Port pipes from Graham’s Port.
The 2024 release was distilled on November 20, 1991, and includes casks from Graham’s 1982 Single Harvest Port.On the nose, this thirty year old whisky presents aromas of manuka honey, rich dark berry fruits, marzipan, and cinnamon, with notes of dried fruits and dark chocolate.
The palate offers flavors of Victoria plums, dark cacao, and Maraschino cherries, complemented by Colombian coffee, rich mocha, and orange zest. The finish delivers blood orange, moist ginger cake, liquorice, and sugared almonds.
Each bottle is individually numbered and displays its bottling year, making this a collectible expression. The ABV varies by release year, with recent editions bottled at 43.8%. This Highland single malt is typically enjoyed neat or with a small amount of water to open the complex flavor profile developed through three decades of maturation.
