Springbank 1997 21 year old Authors Series – Oscar Wilde

A single cask release from the highly collectable authors series range, this Campbeltown single malt was distilled at Springbank in 1997 and matured in a single sherry cask for 21 years. Bottled at 52.9% abv, this edition has been paired with legendary author Oscar Wilde. On the nose, intense notes of sherry-maturation are immediately apparent, with raisins, plums and oranges combing with a wonderful wood polish/old library note. The palate has Christmas cake, dark chocolate, cherries, pepper and a faint hint of smoke, before a beautifully dry and smoky finish.
