Description
Glen Scotia 11 Year Old is produced at the Glen Scotia Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. This limited edition expression was released for the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2023 and represents a lightly peated single malt with a total maturation period of 11 years.
The whisky undergoes initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks before receiving an additional finish of approximately 12 months in White Port casks. This secondary maturation process contributes distinctive characteristics to the spirit while maintaining the fundamental profile of Glen Scotia’s lightly peated house style.
The whisky is bottled at 54.7% ABV without chill filtration and contains no added coloring, presenting a natural amber color. On the nose and palate, orchard fruit and dried fruit notes are accompanied by soft coastal salinity, gentle smoke, and spice.
The White Port cask finish provides additional layers of complexity to the established Campbeltown character.
Glen Scotia 11 Year Old was released as a limited edition for the festival, with approximately 24,000 bottles produced. The expression is presented in a branded box featuring light tones and purple accents that highlight the festival edition designation and White Port cask finish information.
This whisky is commonly enjoyed neat or with a small amount of water to open the flavor profile.
