Description
Clase Azul Añejo Tequila is produced at Productos Finos de Agave in the Jalisco Highlands, located in the Arandas region of Mexico.
The tequila is crafted from 100% Tequilana Weber Blue Agave through a traditional production process that includes slow cooking with steam in stone ovens for 72 hours, artisan milling, fermentation with proprietary yeast, and double distillation in copper stills.
The spirit undergoes an aging period of 25 months in American whiskey casks. This extended maturation develops the characteristic profile and intense amber color with copper reflections. The tequila is bottled at 40% ABV and presents a viscous, full-bodied character.
On the nose, toffee, cinnamon, cloves, toasted hazelnut, vanilla, orange marmalade, and toasted oak are present. The palate offers nutmeg, cloves, orange marmalade, toasted oak, cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, and baking spices. The finish provides a smooth sensation with lingering agave and oak, followed by vanilla essence.
Clase Azul Añejo is presented in a distinctive hand-painted ceramic decanter created by Mazahua artisans as part of the Edición Indígena-Mazahua collection. The ultra-fine ceramic bottle features a spiral appliqué symbolizing earth’s fertility, a fine blue line representing water, and feathered designs at the neck. Each decanter is sealed with a pewter cap and adorned with a 24-karat gold vermeil medallion.
The ceramic undergoes triple firing at temperatures reaching 1200°C and is finished with food-grade, lead-free coating. Each piece is signed by the master distiller and the individual artisan who created it, with production taking approximately two weeks per decanter.
This tequila is commonly enjoyed neat to appreciate its aging characteristics and complex flavor profile.
