Description
El Mayor Reposado Tequila is produced at Destiladora Gonzalez Lux in Arandas, located in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The tequila is crafted from 100% Blue Agave and undergoes a minimum aging period of 9 months in white oak barrels, exceeding the industry standard minimum of 2 months for reposado classification by 7 months.
The extended aging process allows the spirit to develop additional complexity while maintaining balance. The tequila is bottled at 40% ABV and presents subtle golden hues. On the nose, hints of sweet fruit flavors and understated spice are present.
The palate offers a smooth and round entry with a medium body featuring fruity agave, vanilla, spice, and caramel notes. The finish is smooth and balanced with fruity and spiced characteristics.
El Mayor Reposado has received recognition at international spirits competitions, including Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Silver at the 2024 ISC Awards, Gold at the 2024 SIP Awards, and Platinum at the 2023 ASCOT Awards.
The tequila is presented in a clear glass bottle with a cork closure, displaying the golden color of the aged spirit. Each bottle includes batch and bottle numbering on the label.
This tequila is commonly enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.
